Die Wohnstraße Ob dem Viehweidle biegt von der Oberen Schillerstraße nach Osten ab und endet nach etwa 220 m an einem Wendeplatz. Von dort aus führt ein Verbindungsweg mit Treppe zur Mörikestraße.

Das Viehweidle ist der Flurname südlich der Straße. Sie wurde in den 1930er Jahren angelegt und hieß bis 1945 Walter-Flex-Straße, nach einem Schriftsteller und Kriegslyriker [1], der im 1. Weltkrieg gefallen war.
